Strengths:

Good size for a 4 at almost 6’10” with a massive wingspan.

Surprisingly athletic given size.

Shows a lot of potential as a shooter. Can hit shots off the dribble.

Very good ball handler for his size.

NBA ready frame.

Crafty from the low post. Gets high percentage looks.

Weaknesses:

Not a great shot-blocker. Limits ability to play the 5.

Very foul prone. 3.2 in only 27 MPG.

May need to lose weight to play major NBA minutes.

Hasn’t shown ability to consistently contribute offensively.

Doesn’t offer a ton as a passer given skill.

NBA Comparison:

Bigger Marvin Williams

Decent athletes who primarily contribute offensively as shooters. Plus ball handlers who can create off the dribble. Both struggle guarding smaller players at times, but use long wingspans to contest shots and keep the ball in front of them.

NBA Draft Outlook:

30-40 Range.

Ideal Fits:

Milwaukee at 30:

Long arms? Check. Can spread the floor a bit? Check. Sounds perfect for Milwaukee. Without a ton of depth in the frontcourt, Reid would have an opportunity to contribute immediately on a contender and potentially play some center behind Lopez.

Brooklyn at 31:

The Nets don’t have a ton of established talent on the wings for a playoff team. Reid would offer some offensive skill and size next to defensive anchor Jarrett Allen. He has the athleticism to play in the Net’s fast paced offense but he will need to improve his conditioning to play major minutes.

Charlotte at 36:

Depending on Kemba’s decision, the Hornets might be the worst team in the league next season. Reid offers some long-term offensive potential in a massive frame and would be a nice pickup at 36. He would get the a lot more run than most NBA teams and potentially get an opportunity to be somewhat of an offensive focal point.
