The turnover chain was out a lot on Thursday night, and I mean A LOT. The Canes’ forced 6 turnovers in their Thursday night victory vs ACC foe North Carolina.

The Hurricanes defense returned to their old form on Thursday. After getting embarrassed by LSU on opening weekend, Miami’s defense played lights out. The Manny Diaz led squad held the Tar Heels to just 10 points. In fact, the Canes’ defense scored more touchdowns than the North Carolina offense.

The defense Miami is what made Miami a contender last year, and its what will make them a contender this year.

The Miami defense played unbelievably, but it was a different story for the Miami offense. After benching the former starter, Malik Rosier, red-shirt Freshman, N’Kosi Perry made his first career start.

While Perry didn’t play horrible, he was surely nothing spectacular. Perry passed for only125 yards on just 8 completions.

Now granted, Perry didn’t have the opportunities that he will typically have due to the lopsided score.

The Miami running game was the main reason for the Canes’ success on offense. Miami rushed for an impressive 229 yards in their win.

When it comes down to it, N’Kosi Perry makes Miami a better team when he is receiving snaps.

After the loss, UNC falls to a disappointing 1-3

With the win, Miami moves to 4-1.
