The Florida Gators and 23. Mississippi State will clash tonight at 6:00 ET on ESPN. The Gators are coming off a huge 47-21 win vs Tennessee, while the Bulldogs are coming off a shocking 28-7 loss to Kentucky. The Bulldogs are favored by 7 in this match up, and are looking to have a bounce back game in front of their home crowd.
In my opinion, this is the Game of the Week in the SEC. When looking at this game, you’ll see a lot of common characteristics between the 2 teams. Both have a loss to Kentucky despite being expected to blowout the Wildcats, and both have high expectations for the rest of the season. Considering this is Dan Mullen’s return to Starksville to play his former team, both teams will have masses of motivation headed into today’s game.
Last week, Florida fed off of turnovers, forcing 4 fumbles and 2 interceptions vs the Vols. If the Gators can get turnovers vs Mississippi State, they’ll win. In the end, this game will be a good one, and it is a huge match-up for both teams. However, I do think the Gators will knockoff Mississippi State in a signature upset victory for Dan Mullen.
