#4 Clemson at Wake Forest Series

  • Game will be at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem, North Carolina
  • Game will start at 3:30 PM ET
  • Clemson leads series 65-17-1
  • Clemson holds current win streak of 9

Offensive Players to watch:

Clemson: Dabo Swiney has stated that he expects Trevor Lawrence to return this week for Wake Forest. And I think that the “real” Trevor Lawrence will show up to play as well. Wake Forest’s real weakness on their defense is obviously their pass yards allowed, with 272 a game. Look for Lawrence to erase the bad taste that he put into our mouths last week.

Wake Forest: Greg Dortch is known to make some big plays on the offensive side of the ball for Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons needs to use the most they can out of Dortch if they want a shot at beating Clemson. Dortch has racked up 555 receiving yards on 45 receptions this season, so far.

Defensive Players to watch:

Clemson: Trayvon Mullen has showed to be a vital part in this Clemson defense. Wake Forest relies on their passing game to keep them inside the game when they get down. If Mullen can stop them short when it comes to these times, Clemson will succeed.

Wake Forest: Pressure. Wake Forest must apply pressure to Trevor Lawrence to slow down this Clemson offense when they get going. The man that must lead this attack of pressure needs to be Willie Yarbary. Yarbary has shown to mean a great deal for the Deacon front 4 and its inside pressure. Yarbary must equally apply pressure to the pass and stop the run to give the Deacons the edge.

The Basics:

9 straight wins. It doesn’t get any more daunting than that. The deacons have been struggling all this season, not at all what we had expected. Now this must prepare hard for this tough Clemson team. And with Clemson coming over their scrapping victory over Syracuse. Dabo will let these boys have it and I’m sure we won’t see another game like this until the post season.

Prediction:

49-17 Clemson
