Appalachian State opened the season with a 45-38 OT Loss to powerhouse Penn State and haven’t looked back since winning every single game. Today the AP poll pegged Appalachian State as the 25th best team in the nation, the highest ranking in the team’s short history. Appalachian State has a very good chance at winning out as the only remaining game in which they will not be the heavy favorites is a solid Troy in Kidd Brewer Stadium.

Could App State be top 15-20 by the end of the year? Being in the Sun Belt it will be tough to crack , but 6-1 Georgia Southern Next Week and Troy in Week 13 may be big enough to propel them up.

After receiving a record 79 votes in the Associated Press Poll, the App State football team has been ranked in the Top 25 for the first time in school history, coming in at #25.
