#2 Clemson at Florida State Series:

  • Game will be at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida
  • Game will start at 12:00 PM ET
  • Florida State leads series 20-11
  • Clemson holds current win streak of 3

Offensive Players to watch:

Clemson: Tee Higgins has shown time and time again why he is the leading receiver on Clemson. Higgins has the ability to out-maneuver his defensive matchup on defense to make a play. Higgins has 426 yards this year on 26 receptions, with 4 TDs squeezed in there. I think Clemson will look to get the ball to Higgins a lot this game and hopefully get the ball moving.

Florida State: Deondre Francois is a QB that many have still yet to list into a definite category. He makes defenses yield to his arm with games ranging from 129 yards to 353 yards. Francois’s ability to find receivers down the field will be good against this Clemson secondary who has given up an average of (18.6) yards a game.

Defensive Players to watch:

Clemson: Dexter Lawrence, I think, will operate in an unusual manner this Saturday. Lawrence his a monster of a defender with 15 tackles on the inside line. I see his role in Saturday’s game more so as a distraction than anything. He will draw more Florida State offensive linemen his way and give rise to the defensive ends on Clemson. I feel Lawrence will just have the game of his life.

Florida State: Dontavious Jackson runs the middle of the field for Florida State. He is the eyes and ears of the defense when it comes to schemes and attacks. His ability to read the QB and the offense is definitely noticed by many and adds to why he will be important to this game. Watch for Florida State to use Jackson to the fullest against this mobile Clemson offense.

The Basics

Clemson is only a touchdown away from averaging twice as many points as Florida State does a game. It is quite obvious to see that Clemson’s offense should be daunting to anyone looking to oppose it. With the likes of Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne as weapons, it is nearly impossible to stop them. The ‘Noles will keep it tight early, but then I see a drastic change after the first quarter.

Prediction

45-16 Clemson
