Strengths:

Ideal frame for a forward. NBA ready body.

Versatile defender. Can potentially guard 1-5.

Proven winner. Dropped 27 PTS – 9 REB in the Natty.

Very Efficient. 52.0/43.8/78.3 Clip.

Solid shooter. Can catch and shoot from anywhere on the court.

Weaknesses:

May never be an elite scorer.

Not a great athlete. Looks a bit robotic.

Doesn’t generate a lot of steals/blocks. (0.6/0.6).

Older player for a Potential Top 5 pick.

Pro Comparison:

Rich Man’s Trevor Ariza

Hunter’s major downfall is he doesn’t have a go-to offensive move. If he’s not getting good looks in the corner, he is not going to be a impact player offensively. Ariza has had a similar problem throughout his career. Defensively they use their frames and foot speed to lockdown opposing players. Hunter has a lot more potential as a shooter/defender than Ariza, but his career projects a decent “floor” for Hunter.

NBA Draft Outlook:

4-9 Range.

Idea Fits:

Hunter could honestly fit in on any NBA team. His defense and ability to play SG/SF/PF will allow him to play immediately. There is however one team that stands out.

Lakers at 4:

Lakers have a major surplus of Wings. So why would Hunter want to land in LA outside of the weather? Fit. Basically everyone on the Lakers needs the ball in their hands to make an impact. There’s only one ball. That was obviously a problem if you watched any Lakers games last season. Hunter already has a consistent jumpshot and doesn’t need the ball in his hands to effect the game. His upside as a 3/D player is very high and he’s a proven winner. The Lakers may clear house in hopes of landing an All Star like AD, and Hunter would be able to make a major impact on a team that could potentially make a deep run.
