Teams on Upset Watch for Week 3

There were some teases last week, not going to lie, but it is a new week and there are new opportunities coming ahead. This week we get a lot of ranked versus unranked matchups that could get us some steam. Lets look at who has the best chance of getting upset this weekend:

UCF Knights

I am not knocking off the Knights at all, but if it is going to happen I feel like it would have to be this game before they collect momentum. The Knights are 16-0 at home reaching since 2017. That is a very daunting record to be on any team’s head when entering Orlando. It will be up to Stanford to turn themselves into a smash-mouth team when they play the Knights to make up for that spanking from USC.

Iowa Hawkeyes

I think it's pretty cool that Iowa State has hosted College Gameday in both football and basketball in the last 5 years

It is a rivalry game, plain and simple. These past two years in the rivalry have been close too, so don’t be surprised if this new looking Iowa State team can pull a fast one on Iowa. I wouldn’t count on it though, as Iowa State took Northern Iowa into triple overtime, but rivalry games deserve respect.

Virginia Cavaliers

Let’s put this situation into its most simple form: If Willie Taggart gets blown out this game, he will most likely go bye bye. Virginia has been looking like a pretty safe bet on the Coastal Champion. However, Florida State is coming into town and they have a chip on their shoulder about last week. This will either be a dismantling of Willie Taggart’s career or the Seminoles might have a grand upset plotted up for us.

Trevor Matich just put Virginia on 'upset alert' on SportsCenter, citing FSU's strong 1st halves. Says if Florida State "can stop sticking their own foot in their own ear, they'll be a handful for four quarters".

So there is that.

Washington Huskies

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors don’t really give too much care when playing football. If you watch any of their games, you can clearly see that. They play very risky football with many 50/50 opportunities that they hope fling in their way. And that is just the strategy they might need to implement to take down the favored Huskies. Hawaii also has a stud at the quarterback spot with Cole McDonald, so it should be an interesting game.
