ACC Coastal: Scenarios For Each Team’s Path To Win The Division
This year has been a wild year in the ACC. With each team having plenty of chances to win the division. Here are the teams that still have a chance to win the coastal:
Eliminated Teams: Duke, Georgia Tech, and North Carolina
Virginia: Odds – 65%
The formula for UVA winning the coastal is simple: Win your final ACC game against rival Virginia Tech. That is easier said than done though, as the Hoos have lost to the Hokies 15 years straight.
Virginia Tech: Odds – 26%
Like UVA, Virginia Tech controls their own destiny. Those final games will not be easy, as the Hokies final three games have two of the top teams in the division, in Pitt and UVA .
Pitt: Odds – 6%
Unlike Virginia and Virginia Tech, the way for Pitt to win the coastal is a little bit more challenging. Pitt will have to win out and hope UVA loses their final ACC game to Virginia Tech. That will not be easy though, as the Panthers get a date with Virginia Tech on Nov. 23.
Miami: Odds – 1%
The Hurricanes would have to finish out at 5-3, which means they cannot lose another game for the rest of the season. Not only that, but Miami needs Pitt to lose to Boston College which would mean both team would finish tied at 5-3 and Miami would own the tie breaker. They are also gonna need UVA to lose their last ACC game and Virginia tech to lose their next two games to Pitt and Georgia Tech.
